Warren Carlos Sapp is an American former football defensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons, primarily with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was arrested in 2015 and below you will get all the information related to it.
Why Was Warren Sapp Arrested?
Shortly after reporting on the 2015 Super Bowl for the NFL Network, defensive player Warren Sapp, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame was taken into custody and accused of soliciting a prostitute.
According to reports, two women were acting as escorts when they called security personnel at a downtown hotel at around 2:30 a.m. The woman claimed that an argument over money in a guest room turned physical, spilling out into the hallway. Phoenix police spokesman Trent Crump said:
“During the investigation, detectives were able to establish that act of prostitution occurred in the room by at least one of the females.”
Sapp was charged with two counts of assault and procuring a prostitute, both minor offenses. Crump said:
“When he was questioned by police, Sapp “admitted involvement in the act of prostitution, but denied assaulting the females, Minor injuries consistent with a struggle were observed by investigators on both females.”
Sapp was released on his own recognizance following his initial court appearance on Monday, February 2, 2015 afternoon. Sapp was a dangerous defensive tackle who was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 12th overall choice in the 1995 NFL Draft. He was a key member of the defense that helped the team win its first Super Bowl in 2002.
Throughout his career, he was selected for seven Pro Bowl appearances and in 2013 was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. The NFL Network said that Sapp had been fired shortly after word of his arrest spread. Since 2008, he has been an analyst for the network.
