A Look at the Life of Phil Shea
Phil grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended St. Angels Elementary, Fairview Park High School and Parmadale / St. Anthony’s Home for Boys. Phil moved out west in his twenties, captivated by the excitement and sunshine of California.
He was well-known for his health-consciousness and his rigorous vegan diet. He treasured his 1990 conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He wed Rachel Elizabeth Smith in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their love for one another was charming.
The popular TV shows “The Office” from 2005 to 2013, “Superstore” from 2015 to 2022 and American Auto from 2021 to 2023 all featured him as the Property Master for all nine of those seasons. Nearly every item used in “The Office” was created or purchased by Phil and it all bore his unique style, enthusiasm and inventiveness.
Phil had an unmatched dedication to perfection in his field. Everything he undertook was done with laser-focused accuracy and wholehearted devotion. He frequently put in extra time to make sure every show turned out perfectly.
He was an industry man and the people he worked with were like family to him. Phil had a lot of energy, was gregarious, enjoyed laughing, had a gorgeous grin and looked like a movie star, but he didn’t like being in the spotlight.
His preference was to work his magic in the background and produce the best results for others, letting them shine. Phil always looked out for the people he loved and those in need because he had a very kind, sympathetic and giving heart.
He was not scared to be vulnerable and tell you honestly how much he loved you. He was a very generous and very silent donor. Every Christmas, he would search grocery shops and Walmart for unknowing families in need. He was desperate for a family bond. Several families adopted him as their own after coming to know his sincere affection and concern.
