The David Boreanaz led drama SEAL Team has been picked up for a seventh season by Paramount+. The popular military drama was renewed two months after the cliffhanger-ending sixth season. Considering that the renewal for Season 6 was announced just one week after the conclusion of Season 5.
Fans were understandably frustrated by the delay and started a social media campaign under the hashtag #RenewSEALTeam which has caused the show’s title to trend several times over the past few weeks. There was apparently no drama behind the scenes and the delay was instead caused by discussions about how to make the show more suitable for online viewing.

What are the Latest Updates on Seal Team Season 7 by Paramount+?
Due to its roots as a television drama, SEAL Team’s 22 episodes per season required the use of sound stages and sets for roughly nine months. With Paramount+ only ordering 10 episodes per season, there is no point in paying to store all those sets throughout the year when they will be unused for well over half of the year.
The Seal Team shared a tweet in which they mentioned that Season 7 is coming to Paramount+. But we are not yet confirmed its release date.

The only people who have spoken publicly about the greenlit project are Boreanaz (star/executive producer), Chulack (executive producer) and Hudnut (showrunner). According to what I’ve heard, the movie is still in the works, but it hasn’t been actively developed for at least a year.
Season 7 would presumably pick up directly after Season 6, with no movie in between. The emotionally resonant season 6 finale featured Jason (Boreanaz) being reprimanded for discussing his traumatic brain injury (TBI) in the media.
Then, Bravo’s teammates all speak up, each relating a traumatic experience that leaves Bravo’s future uncertain. Paramount Streaming’s chief content officer Tanya Giles is excited to give SEAL Team fans even more of the series’ poignant storylines and thrilling missions in the upcoming seventh season.
The show’s popularity and scope keep expanding. It’s representative of the kind of content that does well with our viewers. No official numbers exist, but SEAL Team is likely a high-performing original series on the service. The show SEAL Team chronicles the professional and personal lives of the Navy’s most elite special operations unit as they prepare for and carry out the highest-stakes most perilous missions in the history of the United States.
Starring alongside Boreanaz in the role of Jason Hayes, the team’s respected and intense leaders are Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, Toni Trucks and Raffi Barsoumian all of whom are rumored to have renewed for the upcoming season. Max Thieriot, now the star and executive producer of the smash CBS drama Fire Country reprised his role as Clay Spenser for the final season.
