Is Firefly Lane Season 3 in the works? Finally, season two is available on Netflix but will there be a third? In February 2017, Firefly Lane made its Netflix debut. The show, which stars Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke from Scrubs, follows the two women from the beginning of their friendship in the 1970s to the perils of modern life, frequently switching between different time periods.
Season 2 was promptly renewed, and the first half of the new season premiered in early December on streaming services. Is Firefly Lane done after two seasons, or will there be a third? We know what to do now.
When can we expect to see Firefly Lane Season 3?
No, Firefly Lane Season 3 is not happening because Season 2 is the last season however there are more episodes coming. In October of last year, Netflix announced that Firefly Lane Season 2 will be the series’ final installment. The first installment premiered on Netflix on December 2 and the second is scheduled to appear in 2023.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chalke said that viewers should prepare themselves emotionally for the show’s final episodes. You should get some. ‘I can’t wait for everyone to see it,’ she exclaimed.
As the author puts it, “Season 1 raised a lot of questions and Season 2, Part 1 answered those; now there are even more questions, and all of those will be answered in the second half. Yet there is also a great deal of humor.
And… when you guys are done binging those new #FireflyLane episodes… you can look forward to 7 more! Season 2 part 2 will be hitting your screens on June 8, 2023. pic.twitter.com/eGxNzNG1kQ

“The program is great because it has just the right amount of lighthearted moments interspersed with the more serious ones,” the critic said. Part 1 of Season 2 of “Firefly Lane” may be viewed right now on Netflix.
Is Firefly Lane Canceled After Season 2?
However disappointing it may be Firefly Lane a quaint drama on Netflix, will end after just two seasons and a number of questionable hairstyles. Earlier this month, fans were reunited with lifelong BFFs Kate and Tully (played by TV royalty Sarah Chalke and Katherine Heigl), and they learned the shocking reason why their once-unbreakable friendship turned sour in the season one finale.
If for some inexplicable reason you haven’t watched the first nine episodes of Firefly Lane Season 2, you should know that Tully, who was supposed to be supervising Kate’s grounded daughter Marah, instead let her go to a frat party and then crashed after picking her up afterward because she’d had too much to drink.
While Kate’s anger is reasonable, it is important to remember that the crash wasn’t Tully’s fault (even taking into account her inebriation). We’re not just a little bit irritated, we’re flaming mad. The first episode ended on a cliffhanger and it was a doozy: Kate had just found out that Tully had been diagnosed with breast cancer, and she went to her apartment to tell her the news. But when she got there, she discovered that Tully had left for a work trip in Antarctica.
The good news is that on June 8, 2023, the streamer will have the last seven episodes of Firefly Lane which will show what this diagnosis means for Kate and whether or not she and Tully can ever mend their friendship. Is there any bad news? There will not be a Firefly Lane season 3 because the tale concludes at the end of Part 2. You have our deepest sympathies and we share your sadness, but there is a valid cause for this action.

From reading the novel by the same name by Kristin Hannah, we know that Kate will be given terminal cancer. Tully returns home to be by Kate’s side as soon as she hears the news, providing her with the comfort she needs before she passes away. None of us are crying. You’re in tears. Part two will also discuss Hannah’s follow-up book, Fly Away, which is just as painful because it focuses on the aftermath of Kate’s death and how it continues to affect Tully even four years later.
Though it may seem like the planned seven episodes aren’t enough to properly address Kate’s death and the events of Fly Away, showrunner Maggie Friedman has always intended for that to be the case.
