If you’re low on health in Nightingale, don’t fret. There are two ways to fix it: right away and over time. Let me explain both to you.
How to Heal Immediately in Nightingale?
To get better in Nightingale, use a Healing Salve. When you use it, you’ll see a Healing status effect in the bottom left corner of your screen. This helps you heal for about five seconds and fixes up a lot of your health.

How to Craft Healing Salve in Nightingale?
To make a Healing Salve, go to your Campfire or make one if you don’t have it. Put stuff like Plant Fibre or Sticks to fuel the fire. Then, open the crafting screen of the Campfire, and you’ll see Healing Salve at the top. To make Healing Salve, you’ll need Bones and Plant Fibre.
To find Bones, look for animals out in nature. I used my Simple Hunting Knife to ask some wolves nicely, and they were happy to give me Bones, along with some Meat and Hides.
Getting Plant Fibre is super easy. Just go to a place with lots of grass and start gathering all the tall grass you see by running around. You’ll have plenty of Plant Fibre in no time, probably just a few seconds.

How to Heal in Nightingale Overtime
Healing Salves can be handy, but if you look after your character well, they’ll heal on their own. Here’s how to make passive healing work:
- Make sure you eat enough to fill your Hunger bar. Remember those Wolves who gave you Bones? Cook their Meat on the Campfire and eat it to fill your Hunger bar (the green bar at the bottom left of your screen). This not only helps you regain health slowly but also boosts your maximum Health temporarily. Cooking in Nightingale is easy and totally worth it.
- Take breaks to rest. Make a Bedroll, and when your rest bar gets low (the blue bar at the bottom left), lie down on the Bedroll for a few seconds to rest. It’ll recharge you quickly.
If you’re not hungry or tired, you’ll get a “Relaxed” boost that helps your health grow stronger and heal slowly.
