When Did Melanie Olmstead Die?
On May 25, 2019, Melanie Olmstead, who was working on season 3, passed away at the age of 50 years. After her death, Fran Pruyn shared a post on Facebook and wrote, “Our beautiful Melanie Olmstead passed away. I cannot express how much we will miss her. Ride on silver girl. And rest peacefully.”
Although her official cause of death was never made public, some news sources reported she passed away due to complications from cancer but it is not yet officially confirmed.
The cast of the show was shocked to know about Melanie’s passing. She was a vital member of the team. In the second season trailer, she was honored with a title card bearing her name as part of the commemoration.
Melanie worked backstage, despite having been involved in the production of numerous projects and popular titles. Olmstead was a devoted mother of three and wife and everyone who knew her will miss her terribly. She was a close friend to many and had a significant impact on many lives.

What Work Did Melanie Olmstead Do in Her Life?
Melanie Olmstead was raised by her adoptive parents, Janet Corbridge and Reid Howard, after she was born in 1968. She fell in love with horses in particular, while growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah. Olmstead liked to spend time with her friends and horses when she wasn’t working.
Olmstead wrote on Facebook, “My love affair with horses started about the time I learned to walk, but I didn’t get my first “just mine” horse until I was an adult.”
Melanie Olmstead was a crew member for Yellowstone, the Paramount Network series. She oversaw the location and transportation for the show even though she didn’t appear in it. Melanie made a substantial contribution to the cinematography, which had an amazing backdrop provided by the show.
She was in charge of relocating the actors, animals and supplies, as well as deciding on sites. Melanie was an actress, transport manager and business owner from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Melanie was a member of the crew for shows and films like Point Break, John Carter, Benji: Off the Leash and Primary Suspect. She was well-known for her trustworthy transportation work for numerous motion pictures.
