What is Toby Cohen’s Cause of Death?
There is heartbreak throughout the Tri-State area after the untimely deaths of two attorneys. The married pair had ties to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. They died on Thanksgiving in a crash that critically injured their three children. Paul Nanos of Bristol, Connecticut said:
“It sounded like an explosion almost and then we heard the sirens and saw the lights. We walked over there and it was just a tragic scene.”
Nanos resides near the scene of the crash that claimed the Cohens’ life and left their two young boys and one girl badly injured. Nanos said, “Just to think of those three kids growing up without parents is horrible.”
The Cohen family’s vehicle veered off the road and into the woods. Neither adult had identification on them, for whatever reason. The crash inquiry is still ongoing.

A sad memorial service was attended by family and friends on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 in Livingston, New Jersey. The couple that are recalled are radiant beings that exude love. A speaker expressed that love would always be given to the kids who lost their parents.
Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez, who employed Brooke Cohen for many years, said in a statement that she fought for justice with positivity and resilience. The statement is as follows:
“The profound loss of our dear friend and longtime colleague Brooke Cohen, and her husband Toby, leaves a void not only in our professional community but deeply affects each one of us who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside them.
Throughout her time in Brooklyn, Brooke demonstrated unwavering dedication, relentless advocacy, and a steadfast commitment to combatting gender-based violence. From her early days as an assistant to her role as a supervisor in the criminal court, she fought for justice with positivity, resilience, and a contagious smile that inspired those around her.”

Toby Cohen worked for Red Apple Group, a conglomerate owned by John Catsimatidis. He was remembered as a fiercely committed son, brother, husband and father.
Many lives were affected by the accident, which crushed many hearts. The brother of Brooke Cohen announced during the service on Tuesday that she had decided during Thanksgiving dinner to be a bridesmaid in his forthcoming wedding, and the kids would be the flower girl and ring bearers.
