Why is Brittany Mahomes Famous?
Brittany Lynne Mahomes is an American sports team owner. She was born on August 31, 1995. She is also a retired women’s soccer forward who last played for UMF Afturelding when it competed in Iceland’s 2. deild kvenna.
She is a founding co-owner of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team in the American professional top tier, Kansas City Current. In Whitehouse, Texas, Mahomes was a student at Whitehouse High School. She was an All-East Texas forward in her final year, scoring 22 goals and dishing out five assists.
In 2017, Mahomes announced his retirement from soccer and settled back in Kansas City to work as a personal trainer. She marketed fitness regimens on the internet platform Brittany Lynne Fitness, which she advocates as a social media personality.
An ownership group led by Mahomes was granted an expansion team by the National Women’s Soccer League on December 7, 2020. The team was essentially relocated when the club, then known as Kansas City NWSL, acquired the player contracts and draft picks of Utah Royals FC.
Mahomes announced the team’s rebranding as the Kansas City Current in October 2021. He also revealed plans to construct a stadium for the team on Kansas City, Missouri’s Berkley Riverfront Park and he took part in the groundbreaking ceremony in October 2022.
