16-year-old Matthew “Jed” Hall was reported missing on Monday, January 22, 2018, at 6:51 a.m. It was very early in the morning when Jed left home in his 2009 Nissan Versa with camping gear and other things in it.

In the past 4 years, police have not stopped looking for Jed. Together with the Idaho Falls Police Department, the Adventures with Purpose underwater sonar search and rescue dive team found Jed’s car in the Snake River in Idaho Falls on May 1, 2022, after he had left it at home.

What Was Found in Jed Hall’s Autopsy Report?
According to the autopsy report, Jed Hall died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The report also revealed that he had no drugs or alcohol in his system at the time of his death. Jed Hall was a student at Idaho Falls High School and a member of the Civil Air Patrol.
He was described by his family and friends as a smart, kind and adventurous person who loved flying and hiking. His death shocked and saddened many people who knew him or followed his case.
