What Happened to Talented College Football Receiver “Tez Walker”?
A difficult circumstance confronted promising college football receiver Tez Walker. A wide receiver for the North Carolina Tar Heels in football, won’t be eligible to play for the Tar Heels in 2023.
Many people were shocked by this choice including his coach Mack Brown, who expressed his displeasure. Tez was ineligible because he had previously transferred and the NCAA had just tightened its transfer student restrictions.
This adjustment was made to stop athletes from transferring too frequently and staying in college for too long. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tez had started at North Carolina Central but never played there.
After spending two years at Kent State, he transferred to North Carolina. He suffered a setback as a result of these transfer regulations despite his stellar success in prior seasons.

Why is Tez Walker not Eligible to Play?
He flourished at Kent State, winning praise and prizes for his abilities. However, his ability to play for North Carolina was hindered by the NCAA’s harsher transfer student restrictions.
Tez Walker and his supporters had to wait to find out if he could continue playing college football, which raised concerns about how these restrictions would impact student-athletes in the future.
After the NCAA panel considering Walker’s case decided not to reinstate the wide receiver’s eligibility, Brown issued a statement. Brown stated in a statement released by the school, “We’re absolutely crushed to learn that Tez Walker’s eligibility has been denied for this season and he won’t be able to play.”

The decision by the NCAA, according to UNC’s athletic director “Bubba Cunningham” undermines the fair treatment of student-athletes and further erodes the public’s confidence in our national governing body.
He then mentioned Colorado’s football team which is led by Deion Sanders, a first-year head coach. The 85 players on the Buffaloes’ roster for the season are transfers making up more than half of the team. On the choice made today on Tez Walker, Cunningham released a statement:
