I Am Legend, a 2007 American post-apocalyptic action thriller film starring Will Smith as US Army virologist Robert Neville was directed by Francis Lawrence and written by Akiva Goldsman and Mark Protosevich.
The movie, which is loosely inspired by Richard Matheson’s 1954 novel of the same name is set in New York City after a virus that was originally developed to treat cancer has killed most of humanity and left only Neville and nocturnal mutants as the remaining humans.
When Will I Am Legend 2 Be Released?
The exact release date is not yet confirmed because the project is still in its early phases of development. I Am Legend 2 will be available for viewing in theatres when it opens.
While waiting, fans can now watch the first instalment of the vampire saga I Am Legend at home on a variety of streaming platforms. I Am Legend can now be seen on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video and purchased through the Google Play Store.
Who Can Appear in the I Am Legend 2 Cast?
I Am Legend 2 will see Smith reprise his role as Robert Neville and since the alternate I Am Legend ending served as the inspiration for the sequel, his appearance won’t just be in flashbacks or film from Neville’s experiment logs.
Given that I Am Legend made over $500 million at the box office, it is simple to understand why Warner Bros. is making significant continuity alterations to get Smith back.
Although there isn’t yet any information on the character he would be playing, recent “I Am Legend 2” updates have also announced that Creed actor Michael B. Jordan will join the I Am Legend 2 cast. Alice Braga may possibly be coming back, based on her remarks.

What Can be the Plot of I Am Legend 2?
I Am Legend 2’s plot details have not yet been made public, but some minor to-level information has. In March 2022, producer Jon Mone informed in a interview that the I Am Legend 2 will have a “incredibly cool” story:

He said:
“It is an unbelievably cool idea, an idea that made [Will] and Akiva believe that it was worth telling another story. I really can’t say [if it’s based on any of the graphic novels], but it’s based on the minds of Will, and Akiva and Michael B. Jordan, who came up with this incredible angle on how you can continue that story.”
I Am Legend 2 will pick up “a few decades later than the first,” according to writer Akiva Goldsman, drawing influence from the popular PlayStation game and HBO drama “The Last of Us: The Fallen”. In the sequel, “man’s time on the planet as the dominant species had come to an end,” he continued.
