The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has released new bodycam footage showing the moment they arrested rapper 6ix9ine, aka Tekashi69, for failing to appear in court on charges coming from a traffic infraction. There was an arrest on August 9 according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s report.
Deputies asked 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, to come out of the car and handcuff him, as seen on body camera footage. The deputies told the 27-year-old that he was being taken into custody because he had three outstanding traffic citations for which he had failed to appear in court.
“I didn’t know that,” Hernandez said.
Hernandez is seen on camera helping the law enforcement officers. According to the DMV, on June 11 at about 2 a.m., Hernandez, who lives in Casselberry near Orlando, was cited on the Florida Turnpike south of Boynton Beach.
In June, police said that Hernandez was stopped for allegedly speeding 135 mph in a 65 mph zone. The ticket said that Hernandez’s vehicle was unregistered. This latest arrest comes after the rapper spent months in the hospital after a violent beating in a South Florida gym.
