On Monday, August 14, 2023 night, Alyssa Fluet from Massachusetts died on a Casco Bay island after being stuck between two vehicles. Long Island is between Peaks Island and Chebeague Island.
Alyssa Fluet from Methuen, Massachusetts was trying to stop a Ford Ranger on Island from rolling toward another vehicle. She was stuck between the two Rangers and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says she died at the scene.
Capt. Kerry Joyce of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said she seemed stuck between a 2004 Ford Ranger and a 1998 Ford Ranger at about 8 p.m. After the first investigation, officials think Fluet tried to stop the 1998 Ranger from moving when it started to roll from where it was stopped.
The woman was hurt very badly because she was stuck between the vehicles. Fluet was killed right there. When Fluet was hurt, neither of the vehicles had anyone in them and no other injuries were recorded. The cops said that both cars were empty when the crash happened.
The investigation of the case is still going on. The government of the City of Methuen Massachusetts shared a Facebook post about Alyssa Fluet’s death.
Douglas Burke said, “I found out we tragically lost a member of our restaurant team. She has been with me for 3 1/2 years off and on, she was just a baby, 21 years old.”
