According to authorities, a police officer was fired after a speeding-related fight with another cop was seen on the body camera. Charges and an internal review are pending against Orlando Police Department officer Alexander Shaouni.
Shaouni was reportedly on his way to work on June 6 when a patrolling Seminole County Sheriff’s office noticed a marked patrol car traveling too fast.
The police-issued car was speeding at “80 mph in a posted 45 zone,” according to the report, with no emergency lights or sirens turned on. Shaouni did not instantly pull over, therefore the deputy had to go at a speed of almost 90 mph to catch him.
The sheriff’s office released a video that included a portion of the chase as well as the argumentative exchange between Shaouni and the deputy.
Shaouni ultimately came to a stop and questioned the deputy-
“What? My man, I’m going to work. Why are you attempting to stop me?”
“Because you’re going 80 in a 45,” the deputy said.
“I am going into work,” Shaouni said.
In the video, Shaouni gestures to his police uniform and asks the deputy-
“What does it look like I am dressed for?”

Shaouni then refused the deputy’s request for her identity, saying, “No.” In the video, he can be seen returning to his car. As per the arrest record, Shaouni is accυsed of dangerous driving, obstructing an officer, and evading police while their lights and sirens were on.
