On September 4, 2005, Kevin Roby attacked Lloyd Avery II. He smashed something into Lloyd’s head and strangled him to deἀth. After taking Lloyd’s body, Kevin made a human sacrifice.
Lloyd’s damaged body was found in his cell two days after the crime, laying over a bloody pentagram he had painted.

Who Kἰlled Lloyd Avery II?
Kevin Roby murdeɼed Lloyd quite savagely. He was devil-worshipping and paranoid. After kἰlling and s*xually assaulting his sister in an “attempt to satisfy Satan,” he was given a life sentence.
Lloyd always tried to preach the gospel while Roby boasted about his devotion to the devil. Lloyd persevered despite warnings that doing so would infuriate his other inmates.
This has been cited by several people as the impetus for Kevin’s attack on Lloyd. Kevin, like the guards, regularly expressed his dislike of being incarcerated with Christians.
He took legal action against Pelican Bay Prison because they incarcerated him and Lloyd together despite his express request that they do not do so. Roby was given a second life sentence for the double homicide he committed after he strangled his cellmate, Lloyd Avery.
