On Saturday 25 March, the Seattle Seahawks revealed that linebacker Bobby Wagner has signed a free-agent contract to return to the organization after spending the previous year with the Los Angeles Rams.
Many outlets have reported that Wagner agreed to a one-year, $7 million contract.
“Maaaan! Glad to be back in Seattle! It means a lot to be able to come back! Let’s get to work,” Wagner wrote on Instagram.
After a disappointing 5-12 season in 2022, the Rams are restructuring their roster and trying to straighten out their cap issue.
Wagner and the Rams mutually decided to end their relationship last month, only one year into the $50 million, five-year contract he signed in the offseason before last. Eight times a Pro Bowler and six times an All-Pro during his time in Seattle, Wagner was a member of the Seahawks’ Super Bowl XLVIII championship team but claimed he was not informed of his release at the time.
Check out the tweet by Brady Henderson about the return of Bobby Wagner to the Seahawks:
Expect to see a lot more reactions like this. Bobby Wagner’s return is going to make a lot of players in the Seahawks’ locker room happy. Not only is he perhaps the best defensive player in franchise history but a highly respected teammate as well. https://t.co/Q11DQTKM9l

The Seahawks traded Russell Wilson to the Broncos last season but retained a competitive record thanks in large part to the play of Wagner, whom the team drafted in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
