As per CNN reports spokesperson, Mina added, 19-year-old Keith Melvin Moses was arrested and charged with murder following a shooting that occurred early on Wednesday morning. Mina also noted that Moses is suspected in four additional shootings that occurred later that day including the fatal shooting of the Spectrum News 13 journalist.
Moses has a long list of convictions that includes gun crimes, assaults involving a deadly weapon, and aggravated battery. Around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Mina said, deputies were called to the 6100 block of Hialeah Street where they found a woman in her twenties who had been shot and had since died.
He claimed that police arrived and gathered evidence. Authorities, according to Mina are baffled as to why the suspect allegedly singled out the journalists, as well as the mother and daughter who were also shot. At 4:15, “we received 911 calls about another shooting at that location and a shooting nearby,” Mina stated.
Radio Television Digital News Association chief executive Dan Shelley posted a Tweet with deep sadness:
It is with deep sadness that @RTDNA learns of the death of a @MyNews13 journalist in Orlando. He was 1 of 2 of the station’s journalists shot covering a previous crime in a residential area. Sending thoughts of peace and comfort to their families, friends & the other victims. https://t.co/B74aGdJIKv
