Officer Peter Jerving was shot and murdered early on Tuesday morning in Milwaukee’s south side while attempting to apprehend a robbery suspect, Terrell I. Thompson, 19. What we know at this time is detailed below.
What really transpired at the Meeting?
After cops in Milwaukee encountered Thompson, he allegedly disregarded their directions and ran away on foot, as reported by Police Chief Jeffery Norman. When Jerving finally caught up to Thompson, a fight broke out between them. Thompson, armed with a revolver, opened fire, wounding the 37-year-old police officer. Later, Jerving fired his gun.(according to the reports of Usatoday.com)
Both Jerving and Thompson were pronounced dead at the scene, but Jerving was taken to the hospital where she eventually died. The chief also noted that it was unclear whether the suspect had intentionally injured themselves.
The Milwaukee Police Department has not released any new details regarding the event or the surviving officer on Tuesday morning. The Brookfield Police Department is in charge of the investigation. I need to know the name of the shot police officer in Milwaukee.
A Tweet officially shared by Jack Posobiec (senior editor of Human events) to Peter Jerving after his death.

Jerving had served for four years with the Milwaukee Police Department
At 1:16 a.m., he and other officers from District Four arrived in the 2700 block of South 14th Street looking for a suspect in a robbery that had taken place at 11:25 p.m. on Monday in the 3600 block of West Good Hope Road.
Norman described the fallen officer as “one of our finest” in an emotional news conference, saying, “One of our finest, who put on that uniform, on that badge, went into work last night and gave the ultimate price for safeguarding our community.”
In November, the department gave Jerving an award for saving a life. Last summer, he and another cop came into a car wreck and discovered the driver had been shot. All of the cops attended to the driver, while Jerving used an extinguisher to put out the fire in the vehicle.
According to Norman, Jerving has lived in Milwaukee for a long time and has aspired to be a police officer ever since he was a teenager.

Milwaukee resident Terrell I. Thompson is the suspect in this case. Thompson was facing two misdemeanor hit-and-run charges, each of which could have resulted in a six-month prison sentence. Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Christopher Dee imposed a four-month prison term on Thompson on Monday.
A year of probation was substituted for the original sentence. Thus, Thompson would only go to prison if he violated the terms of his probation. The Journal Sentinel tried to get in touch with Thompson’s sentencing judge, Dee. The court clerk stated that the judge was now in the middle of several matters and was unable to remark.
The Journal Sentinel has also attempted to contact Thompson’s legal counsel.
