Republican Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was kicked out after voting on Thursday, from the post of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. This action was taken [lace after her controversial statement about Isreal.
In a 218-211 vote along party lines, the remove Omar resolution was passed. He was alleged by the party lawmakers that Omar also includes “anti-Semitic” (Marjorie Greene anti-Semitic Views)and “anti-Israel” rhetoric.
The reason behind the resolution to remove Omar is her tweets and statements she gave from 2019 to 2021. She tries to compare the U.S. and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban including Isreal politicians as being “all about the Benjamins.”
“Representative Omar, by her own words, has disqualified herself from serving on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, a panel that is viewed by nations around the world as speaking for Congress on matters of international importance and national security,” the resolution said. And “have brought dishonor to the House of Representatives.”
Republicans have a plight to take appropriate action against Omar and other members of the party since 2021. Previously two members Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar were fired for the same region. Although both rejoin the party after McCarthy was appointed as the speaker last month.
Democrats decried McCarthy’s step to join two other members and gave them the seat of GOP Rep. George Santos. After this injustice decision, Santos stated that he has no intention to serve on committees ahead.
“Everybody recognizes on both sides that you don’t want to keep going back and forth,” Mace told reporters on Capitol Hill.
“So if this is going to be the standard, let’s create the standard together going forward and actually have a process because we have a process for censorship, we have a process for expelling a member from Congress, but we don’t have a process in the rules or in the Ethics Committee to remove a member from your committees.”
The speaker stated that could choose another committee to join but Foreign Affairs Committee is very sensitive, so he never try to return it.
“I’m not saying she can’t have committees,” McCarthy said after a meeting at the White House. “But to sit on Foreign Affairs, I worry about … what the rest of the world looks at, every single word that is said there. I’m worried about predetermining what she believes in that situation. She admitted herself, she didn’t even know referring to financial money, dollars, was a trope for those who happen to be Jewish.” (according to CBS News)

Representation matters.
We didn’t come to Congress to be silent.
We came to Congress to be a voice for families who are displaced in refugee camps and those seeking justice around the world.

Omar described in her statement that she has no idea that they were “trafficking in antisemitism” and that a resolution to remove her from the committee by McCarthy is called “politically motivated.”
“Yes, I might have used words at the time that I didn’t understand was trafficking in antisemitism,” Omar said Sunday. “When that was brought to my attention, I apologized. I owned up to it. That’s the kind of person that I am. And I continue to work with my colleagues and my community to fight against antisemitism.”
At the voting time, she wore a bracelet having words like “God bless whoever hates on me.”
Later House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries said Thursday announced that she will join the House Budget Committee. Aside from Omar, McCarthy fired two other party members Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell from the House Intelligence Committee, secretly. But this time party demanded to use the vote of the House members.

What did Omar say at the Republican Resolution to Remove her?
The resolution to remove her was that Republicans were jealous because of her identity. “There is this idea that you are a suspect if you are an immigrant or if you are from certain parts of the world or a certain skin tone or a Muslim,” Omar said. “It is no accident that members of the Republican Party accused the first Black president, Barack Obama, of being a secret Muslim.”

Then she said that she would be undiscouraged by their action. “If I am not on this committee for one term, my voice will get louder and stronger and my leadership will be celebrated around the world as it has been,” the congresswoman said. “So take your votes or not. I am here to stay.”
The White House also described it as a “political stunt” and a “disservice to the American people.” “Congresswoman Omar is a highly respected member of Congress,” White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre told in order to defend Omar. Karine Jean-Pierre even said that she did not comment anything wrong for Isreal.
Despite this Republican Tennessee Representative David Kustoff blamed her for spreading “hateful beliefs”.
“As our nation’s leaders, we have the ability and the responsibility to help combat anti-Semitism and ensure that our children — tomorrow’s leaders — are taught that such rhetoric is unacceptable,” Kustoff said.
