A Florida congressman who was critically injured after falling more than 20 feet while cutting a tree outside his Sarasota home has been released from the hospital.
Greg Steube, R-Fla., tweeted Saturday afternoon that he will recover at home.

Steube was hospitalized for four days after falling 25 feet from a ladder on Wednesday. Witnesses phoned 911. The congressman was taken to Sarasota Memorial’s ICU.

Fox 13 Tampa Bay said that part-time field representative Darrel Woodie contacted 911 after witnessing the fall.
“A branch hit the ladder, took him out,” Woodie said on the call. “I think his left arm is scarred up pretty good.”
UPDATE: The Steube family is grateful for the outpouring of well wishes and prayers. Rep. Steube was moved out of the ICU this afternoon. He remains hospitalized under the care of a great team.

Steube thanked Sarasota Memorial Hospital workers “for the outstanding care” on Saturday. On Wednesday, the Republican tweeted that he was “making progress” and “in good spirits.” Steube represents Florida’s 17th Congressional District in his third term.
