Professional wrestler Ric Flair (born Richard Morgan Fliehr on February 25, 1949) is a retired American wrestler. One of the best professional wrestlers ever, Flair had a career spanning over 50 years. He was given the name Richard Morgan Fliehr when he was just a few months old on February 25, 1949. Because he was raised by a foster family, many assume that Flair’s real name is Frederick Phillips. Fred Stewart and Fred Demaree are two other names that have been used to describe him in various publications.
Detroit, Michigan, where his adoptive father completed his medical residency, was his birthplace. When he was born, his adoptive mother, Kathleen, was employed at the Star Tribune. It was with Gagne’s Minneapolis Boxing and Wrestling Club that he began his professional career before moving on to Jim Crockett Promotions’ roster in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he quickly established himself as a regular.
For the first time in 1981, Ric won the NWA World Championship. Since then, he’s had an illustrious career in professional wrestling. WWE, TNA Wrestling and World Championship Wrestling were some of the organizations he worked for later in his career (World Wrestling Entertainment).
