“Cooking with Lynja” took up the 12th Streamy Awards’ “Best Food” and “Best Editing” in 2022. She and Nick DiGiovanni worked together often; in November 2021, for example, they broke the record for the biggest cake pop ever, weighing 97 pounds, 8.52 ounces (44.240 kg).
Along with DiGiovanni, she also broke numerous other records such as the largest sushi roll in history, measuring 2.15 meters (7 feet 1 inch) in circumference and the world’s largest chicken nugget, weighing 20.96 kg (46.2 lb). In 2023, she was included in Forbes’ “50 Over 50” list. “Lynja-turtles” is the name of her fan base.

Lynn Yamada Davis’s voice changed when she received a throat cancer diagnosis in 2019. She also received a diagnosis of esophageal cancer in 2021. She died in Riverview Medical Center on January 1, 2024, at the age of 67 from complications of esophageal cancer.
Her son shared a post on social media announcing her passing. He wrote, “You’re the best mom I could have ever asked for but an even better friend. I love you mom” in the caption.
