On Tuesday night, January 2, 2024, Discovery Channel debuted the 13th season of Moonshiners and viewers were met with some upsetting news. The show’s cherished mainstay, Digger Manes is unwell. He wanted to provide them with an update on his health after seeing the premiere himself.

Digger Manes is a television personality who appears on the Discovery show “Moonshiners”. He is best friends and business partners with Mark Ramsey, another moonshiner on the show.
On the recent premiere of Moonshiners Season 13, fans were excited to see the usual adventures of the mountain men and their moonshine distilleries. However, there was an unexpected twist one of the beloved stars shared some sad news about having a serious illness.
This revelation came as a surprise to many fans who were tuning in for the usual moonshining escapades. Yes, Digger Manes from Moonshiners is sick. It was disclosed that Digger suffers from chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a blood condition.

What Did Digger Manes Say About His Health?
Digger told supporters that although the leukemia is not fatal, it would make him miserable until something else damaged him, despite the upsetting news. After the first episode, Digger revealed his sickness and he subsequently posted additional information about his diagnosis on Facebook. He posted:
“Hey guys Digger here… I want to follow up with the news that the show aired tonight. The production company did film Mark and myself when I gave him the news after I first received my diagnosis of Luekemia. We only see the episodes when everyone else does so we don’t know what exactly they have on film or even what of it they use in the Final Cut.”
“After more extensive tests my definite diagnosis is Chronic Lymphocytic Luekemia a condition that is not terminal(ain’t no fun though)probably will just make me miserable until something else kills me! Your prayers you’ve extended are more than welcomed and felt. Keep em coming! God is always in control! Continue to watch this season Shine On! Love Y’All!”

Digger went on to say that the good news is that this leukemia won’t kill him. However, he did joke it will make him miserable until something else kills him. He then thanked fans for their prayers and asked people to keep watching Moonshiners and to “shine on.”
