Dan and Lisa Bohm are the parents of Alec Bohm. He was born on August 3, 1996, in Omaha, Nebraska. In high school, Bohm was a power hitter for the Roncalli Catholic baseball team in Omaha.
For Which Teams Did Alec Bohm Play?
Bohm, who was born and reared in Omaha, Nebraska, excelled as a hitter at Roncalli Catholic High School and was left off of the 2015 MLB Draft roster. Rather than attending high school, he opted to play baseball for the Wichita State Shockers in college.
Throughout his three years with the Shockers, Bohm produced offensively, keeping his batting average above 300. Bohm participated in collegiate summer baseball in the Cape Cod Baseball League and the Coastal Plain League in addition to Wichita State.
Bohm was drafted by the Phillies third overall in the 2018 MLB draft and he joined the team in June of that same year. A knee injury postponed the Phillies’ aim to have him in their farm system by the end of 2018, when he was supposed to reach Class A.
Bohm participated in the 2019 All-Star Futures Game. After the postponement of the Minor League Baseball season due to the COVID-19 epidemic, he started the 2020 season at a different training facility. In August, the Phillies brought up Bohm from that training facility and he played every day as the team’s third baseman for the remainder of the season.
Bohm began the 2021 MLB season at third base with the Phillies after a stellar rookie campaign, but a string of ineffective plays on defense and poor hitting led to his return to the minors in August.
