Antony Starr, a New Zealand actor is best known for his television roles. For his role in the 2012 Australian film “Wish You Were Here”, Starr won the AACTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role among other accolades. Antony Starr, who plays Homelander in Amazon Prime show “The Boys” has said he is not voicing the famous supervillain in the fighting game Mortal Kombat 1.

The latest game in the popular fighting game series Mortal Kombat 1 has announced that it will be getting DLC with characters from TV shows and movies. Netherealm has already released one of the DLC figures, Omni-Man.
They were praised for staying true to the show Invincible, as some of the most memorable parts of the show happened when he died. Fans were upset to learn that the voice of Homelander will not be done by the original actor Anthony Starr who was going to be in the DLC character.

In Which Movies Did Antony Starr Appear?
Starr began his professional acting career early in the 1990s with a small part in Shortland Street and had guest roles in Xena: Warrior Princess. Starr was cast in the 2001 season of Mercy Peak as Todd Van der Velter. He had a guest part on the show for all three seasons.
For his role as twins Van and Jethro West, Starr got the 2007 Air New Zealand Screen Award for Performance by an Actor. That same year, he also won Best Actor at the Qantas Television Awards and Best Actor at the Asian TV Awards.
Also in 2007, TV Guide readers chose Starr as the Best Actor in the TV Guide Best on the Box People’s Choice Awards. The first Qantas Television Awards gave him the Best Actor award in 2005 for his part in Outrageous Fortune.
Starr filmed Toa Fraser’s first movie, No. 2, at the same time as the first season of Outrageous Fortune. The movie came out in New Zealand in early 2006. Roger Donaldson’s “The World’s Fastest Indian,” the US comedy “Without a Paddle” and Brad McGann’s “In My Father’s Den” are some of Starr’s other film works.
Starr worked on a short film with some friends between series two and three of Outrageous Fortune. In its second season, Starr went on stage in Sex with Strangers. Starr was in two plays in 2004: Closer at Auckland’s Silo Theatre and S*x with Strangers at the Herald Theatre, which was directed by Colin Mitchell.
Starr was in the movie “After the Waterfall” and the TV movie Spies and Lies in between seasons five and six of Outrageous Fortune. Starr got the part of Senior Sergeant Charlie Lewis on the Australian police show Rush in 2011.
He also played a part in the second season of Lowdown. From 2013 to 2016, Starr played the lead part in the TV show Banshee. This was his first role on American TV. It was an unknown ex-convict who, after 15 years in jail, changed his name to Lucas Hood and became the new Sheriff of Banshee.
Starr also played the lead role of Garrett Hawthorne on the CBS crime/mystery show American Gothic in 2016. Starr was hired as The Homelander in Amazon Studios’ The Boys, which is based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
