Who are the parents of Bob Woodruff?
Woodruff was born in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, on August 18, 1961. His parents Frances Ann Dawson and Robert Norman Woodruff Jr. were real estate managers.
Woodruff graduated from the private Cranbrook Kingswood school in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, in 1979. He graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, with a B.A. in 1983. There, he played lacrosse and scored 184 points, which is second all-time at Colgate.
In 1987, Woodruff got his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He is also a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He has worked as a reporter for ABC News since 1996.
In 2006, Woodruff co-anchored ABC World News Tonight with Elizabeth Vargas, an ABC News reporter. During a reporting trip to Iraq in January of that year, an IED went off and badly hurt him. It took him a long time to fully heal before he could fly again. But he is totally fine now.
