Keith Urban Illness
After being seen by photographers at Sydney Airport in 2018, Keith Urban showed up at the “It’s A Bloke Thing” luncheon in Toowoomba, where he was asked to perform as part of a Prostate Cancer Awareness/Fundraiser. Although he performed at a Prostate Cancer Awareness/Fundraiser attended by 500 people who paid to be there, he is healthy and cancer-free.
Since Urban’s father Robert died of prostate cancer in December 2015 and several of Urban’s uncles and grandfather have also been affected by the condition, raising awareness of the disease is a cause close to Urban’s heart.
Although Urban is presently on the road in the United States for his Graffiti-U World Tour, he took time out of his schedule to return to Australia for this important event, which has generated millions of dollars for Prostate Cancer Awareness and Research over the past seven years.
The annual luncheon is one of the largest daytime fundraising activities in Australia, earning more than $1.53 million in 2017 for the “It’s A Bloke Thing” Foundation. By volunteering his time, Urban contributed to the luncheon’s record-breaking $2,024,000.00 in donations. The importance of spreading the word about Prostate Cancer and funding research to discover a cure, as demonstrated by Urban’s presence at the event and his contributions to the cause, cannot be overstated.
