Jason Aldean is speaking out after being accused of putting out a racially charged music video. While the internet is outraged by his video, Jason defends the words. On Tuesday, the country musician went on social media and said, “I’ve been accused of releasing a pro-lynching song.”
He was talking about his song “Try That in a Small Town,” which came out in May but has been getting much attention since the music video came out last week. He says that people who think it’s because he doesn’t like the Black Lives Matter protests are way off.
Here is the music video:
He also says that the “dangerous” claims are false. JA tells his fans that the single is all about the neighbourhood where he grew up and how people always looked out for each other. He doesn’t talk about some of the lines in the song, like the one that says, “Take your anti-police attitude to a small town and see how far you get down the road.” Jason doesn’t say much about the MV.

He just says that the film is from news clips. People were upset because of where he decided to film his video and what the song was about. The singer’s video was shot in front of the Maury County Courthouse in Columbia, TN. This is where 18-year-old African-American Henry Choate was killed in 1927 after being dragged through the streets and accused of attacking a white girl.
