Michael Mann’s last movie to direct was Blackhat, which came out more than seven years ago. Now, he’s back in a big way with the documentary Ferrari about the businessman Enzo Ferrari. Because Mann has been trying to make this movie since 2000, it will surely be one of the most awaited movies of the year.
The company’s primary focus will be the critical Mille Miglia race and Ferrari’s participation in it. In 1957, this 1,000-mile open-road endurance race went across Italy. The movie shows the last leg of the race. The race couldn’t go on after a Ferrari driven by Alfonso de Portago blew a tire and crashed into the crowd. Nine people died in the accident, including five children, the ship’s captain Edmund Nelson, and Portago himself.
Ferrari Release Date
In July 2023, it was reported that the film would be shown in the US by the independent distributor NEON, known for movies like Parasite, I Tonya, Triangle of Sadness, and The Worst Person in the World. The film will be shown in theatres all over on December 25, 2023, which is Christmas Day.

The film will come out simultaneously as a musical version of The Color Purple from Warner Bros. and a movie about sports called The Boys in the Boat, directed by George Clooney and made by MGM.

What Is The Plot Of Ferrari?
The movie’s summary says it will be about “the life of Italian race car driver and businessman Enzo Ferrari in 1957 as he deals with family problems and gets ready for the 1957 Mille Miglia.” Ferrari follows the car business owner as he deals with problems at work and in his personal life.
Some of these problems are getting divorced from his wife, going bankrupt, and the stress of being in charge of a group of drivers in the Mille Miglia. The movie may show the hard-fought court case after the terrible accident ending the race for good.

Ferrari was charged with killing because he made the car that broke down. You’ll have to watch the movie to find out what happened to Ferrari. (Don’t ruin the story by looking it up on Google!) The story is based on a book called Enzo Ferrari—The Man, The Cars, The Races, and the Machine which the late author and writer Brock Yates wrote in 1991.
Yates liked racing and knew a lot about it because he had been a pit reporter for NASCAR on CBS. He also ran the famous Cannonball Run race and hosted the racing show American Sports Cavalcade on TNN. For people who don’t know much about racing, the Cannonball Run is an illegal race that starts in New York and ends in Los Angeles. The same name was given to a movie that Yates wrote and directed.
