The biggest and greatest new movies available on streaming and VOD services are highlighted each week in our weekly roundup. The long-awaited streaming debut of Avatar: The Way of Water is happening this week, and there are also many other new titles available on video-on-demand and streaming services.
This week, you can watch Living, a remake of Akira Kurosawa’s Ikiru starring Bill Nighy, on Netflix. Creed III, featuring director-actor (and genuine anime lover) Michael B. Jordan, is now available to stream on Prime Video, while Flamin’ Hot, directed by Eva Longoria and about the creation of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, is available to stream on Hulu and Disney Plus.
In addition, this week brings a plethora of new films to video-on-demand services, such as Fast X, the latest film in the Fast and Furious franchise, and Master Gardener, a crime thriller-drama directed by Paul Schrader and starring Joel Edgerton (The Underground Railroad) and Sigourney Weaver (Alien).

Living, a film adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s masterful drama Ikiru, received two Oscar nominations (Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actor). After receiving a grim medical prognosis, Bill Nighy’s character, played by an office worker, decides to make the most of his remaining time.

Avatar The Way of Water
The highly anticipated sequel to James Cameron’s 2009 blockbuster, which was the biggest box office success of 2022, is now available to stream on Disney Plus and Max. It was the most successful picture of the year monetarily, and it was also one of the best, ushering in a new age for digital filmmaking techniques in a visual extravaganza.

Flamin’ Hot
With this film, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria makes her directorial debut. The story follows the life of Richard Montaez, a former janitor at Frito-Lay who claims to be the inventor of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

Creed III
The third film in the Adonis Creed trilogy, based on Apollo Creed’s son, stars Michael B. Jordan in his directorial debut.
After retiring at the peak of his career as the heavyweight boxing champion of the world after defeating his longtime rival Ricky Conlan, Adonis faces a new challenge from his childhood best friend Damian “Diamond Dame” Anderson (Jonathan Majors), who has returned home from prison with a plan to disrupt Adonis’ life and become the champ himself.
