After several days of searching, the Austin Police Department located Jason John’s b0dy in Lady Bird Lake near 30th Street and East Avenue in Austin, Texas at 6:40 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2023. An autopsy report has now been made public.
The method of his deἀth was deemed accidental after an investigation by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office found that he drowned. On the morning of February 5, 2023, a pἀssing pedestrian saw a 30-year-old guy vomiting at the shore of Lady Bird Lake before he fell into the lake and drowned.
The bystander tried to help the deceἀsed before going to a nearby hotel to call for emergency services. John did not sustain any major injuries either internally or externally. Alc0hol was found in John’s toxicology result, but no prohibited substances were found.
On February 5th, John’s disappearance was reported almost a week later his b0dy was discovered in Lady Bird Lake close to Rainey Street. After John’s deἀth and another nearby incident a few months later, there was a campaign to install more lighting and fence around the lake to make it safer for visitors.
