Not too long ago, Bryson DeChambeau was well on his way to changing the face of golf forever. Rather than a golfer, he now resembled a bodybuilder. His body was tuned to allow him to hit drives of 350 yards. In order to win the U.S. Open, he had to overcome the challenging Winged Foot Golf Club.
For a short while, it seemed like DeChambeau’s plan was the way forward for the sport of golf. It was only a pἀssing fad.
DeChambeau’s injυries eventually slowed him down. The hand bone was broken. The hip labrum was torn. His performance soon declined, and he left for the more financially rewarding LIV Golf League.
His performance in the new league didn’t win him many fans. After starting the season in the top 10, he fell out of the top 100 in the Official World Golf Ranking and never recovered.
Sadly, the golfer who was supposed to revolutionize the game was no longer in sight. DeChambeau admitted his remorse about gaining weight over the years while he toiled away on the LIV circuit. Alterations to his body were quickly noted by others. The once stocky golfer who garnered widespread media attention shrank dramatically.
In the words of DeChambeau, “I lost 18 pounds in 24 days,” he stated after completing Thursday’s (18May) first round of the PGA Championship. A lot of people said, “It was crazy.”
The former 5,000-calorie-a-day eater has completely changed his eating habits. He dived headfirst into optimal nutrition and cut his calorie intake by 2,100 a day.
DeChambeau said:
“I took a Zoomer peptide test, which essentially tells you what inflames your blood when you eat it.”
I was severely allergic to all grains and dairy products. Almost all of the foods I enjoyed were off-limits to me. I eliminated it. Since I began removing it in August, I’ve had a dramatic reduction in inflammation, shed a lot of fat, and shrunk in size.
DeChambeau has been working out and cutting weight in preparation for this week’s Oak Hill National Championship. He hasn’t finished in the top 10 at a major tournament since he won the U.S. Open. So far, through the first nine holes, the numbers look good.

In the first round of the year’s second major championship, DeChambeau sh0t 66 thanks to six birdies and two bogeys. The golf game was described as fantastic by him.
In his own words, “I was able to play some really good golf, hit a lot of fairways, did my job, and made some putts.”
Now that he feels and looks better than ever, DeChambeau can devote more attention to improving his golf game. A new body gives him renewed vigor, which he can put toward perfecting his trade.

His signature fast swing speed remains unchanged despite his reduced size. In spite of what some may think, “the fast twitch stuff is still there,” as DeChambeau put it. The effort required to reach 200 mph with the ball is minimal.
That’s the magic he called upon to win at Winged Foot; if he keeps it up this week, he might even win at Oak Hill. although with a significantly altered physical form
