Wednesday is one of the most-watched shows on Netflix. You can imagine its success, it creates nearly 400 million viewers only in a week. That’s the only reason to renew the series for the second season. Tim Burton directed it, who previously directed The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride.
Cartoonist Charles Addams cares about its vision. The series revolves around the life of Addams’s family daughter Wednesday when she entered Nevermore Academy for “outcasts, freaks, and monsters.” Her parents Morticia and Addams also meet there for the first time. Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams
Jenna Ortega played the role of Wednesday, and get huge popularity from this character. Though she was not capable to play the role as she said in an interview:
“I had done so much TV in my life. All I’ve ever wanted to do is film…You have to prove yourself. It’s only in the last three or four years that I’ve been able to start going up for film,” she explained.
She was frightened because she was a contestant on the other show. Ortega was also famous as Ellie Alves she played in You 2.
She appeared in other films like Jane the Virgin, Stuck in the Middle, on Netflix series Yes Day and The Babysitter: Killer Queen, and on HBO Max The Fallout. “One time, I did a take where I didn’t blink at all,” that,s why she recalled for Wednesday.
Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams
Catherine, 53 played as Morticia, mother of Wednesday. She starts her career in childhood. She appeared in several films like The Mask of Zorro (1998), Entrapment (1999), Traffic (2000), and Chicago (2002). She won Oscar for best-supporting actor.
She said that she modified herself to play a Modern mother character and to deal with her teenage children. “It’s really Wednesday’s story. I’m hoping that they continue with Wednesday’s story forever, so I can grow old playing Morticia,” she said.

Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams
Luis appears as the father of Wednesday, Gomez Addams. Before this, he was known as Raoul “El Cid” Hernandez in HBO’s Oz, and his other films are Boogie Nights, Punch-Drunk Love, and Traffic (in Traffic he acted with Catherine). “The writing is so good, it’s so funny. The delivery, and makes it funny. That’s really what sold me,” he explained about the script.
Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams
Pugsley, Wednesday’s favorite torture victim, her brother, is played by Isaac. “I just went in blind,” he explained about his character. He wants to add some fun as Pugsley. Isaac praised a lot about Jenna by saying that “She did a really, really fantastic job with Wednesday. She really nailed her character.” Before this, he appeared in Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time.
Christina Ricci as Marilyn Thornhill
Ricci reprised her role as Marilyn, as she played in The Addams Family, in 1991. She appeared in several other films including The Opposite of S*x (1998), Sleepy Hollow (1999), and Monster (2003). Recently she played Misty Quigley in Yellowjackets. Marylin is the mother of Wednesday’s Academy.
“I loved being Wednesday,” Ricci said. “I’m very proud of that role. I also think Jenna Ortega is amazing. She is so brave, so cool, and really doing the part justice. Wednesday is her part now … [and] those two things can be true at the same time!”
Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems
Popular from Games of Thrones, Gwendoline Christie played Larissa Weems’s character, principal in her academy. Though she is known as Brienne of Tarth in the HBO series, she appeared in several other series like The Hunger Games series, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. She tried her best to look like a perfect principle of Nevermore.
Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair
Emma Muers play Enid Sinclair, Wednesday’s roommate character. Emma is only 20 years and start her on-screen career when she was a child. Despite this, she appeared in Girl in the Basement and A Taste of Christmas. The most significant region to join the cast is her bonding with Romania.
Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay
Bianca Barclay is another Nevermore student, who gets enthused because of Wednesday. Joy is happy to play a character like a “mean girl.” Sunday did other films like Netflix’s Dear White People and Freeform’s Good Trouble.
She used her voice to audible some books like Black Panther: Tales of Wakanda, as she, herself is a fan of Black Panther star Danai Gurira.
“I would be elated to work with her in any capacity. If it’s not part of a Marvel project, maybe it could be through Wednesday. There might be a future,” she told about her upcoming projects.
Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin
Tyler works in a coffee shop, and from the academy, he runs with Wednesday there. Hunter Doohan plays this character, which is very down to earth nature. Before joining the Netflix series cast, Doohen appeared in Your Honor, with Bryan Cranston, and also portrayed the character of Aaron Paul in Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told. Doohan married Fielder Jewett in 2022.
Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe
Percy Hynes played the character of Xavier, a bad boy in Nevermore Academy. Despite this, she appeared in Edge of Winter, and A Christmas Horror Story. He gets his first big role on screen as Andy Strucker in Fox’s X-Men spinoff The Gifted.
White was happy to join Wednesday’s cast, as he said, “It was like working on a huge blockbuster movie, and you’re with all of your friends and you’re just having a ball.” white and Ortega will also be cast in MPCA’s Winter Spring Summer or Fall.
Victor Dorobantu as Thing
Thing is a disembodied hand of the Addams family, which is played by Victor Dorobantu. The thing has appeared in every adaption of Addams Family.
“Thing was a very different type of Thing. It was scarred with stitches. It’s a whole different kind of interpretation,” Dorobantu told Vanity Fair.
Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester
Uncle Fester is one of the important characters in the series. Fred appeared as Uncle Fester, only for one episode. But to give a real look to his charter he shaved his head instead of wearing a bald cap, “to just make it that much more convincing.”
Though his role is not opened yet, showrunner Miles Millar said that Fred “was always that first choice.” He did several guest appearances including 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and more. Read the below tweet for more information:

Riki Lindhome as Dr. Valerie Kinbott
Riki Lindhime is cast as Dr. Valerie Kinbott, Wednesday’s therapist. She appeared in several films like Million Dollar Baby, Fun Size, and Knives Out. Lindhome was nominated for Primetime Emmy Award for her appearance in Garfunkel and Oates: Trying to Be Special, in 2016, as a comedian.
