It appears like we still have some time to wait before Jenna Ortega’s Addams Family character, Wednesday, returns to Netflix for a second season. As the third most-watched series in the history of the streaming service, it was no surprise in January when the show was extended for a second season.
While the season 1 finale tied up most of the storylines, Wednesday’s stalker who has been sending her frightening texts remains a mystery. Aside from that, though, the nature of the subsequent Netflix episodes is unclear.
We’ve done our best to provide you with a comprehensive introduction to season 2 of Wednesday, including information on returning cast members and what to expect from Wednesday’s writers, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.
Wednesday Season 2 Release Date
Hallelujah! After 10 weeks of waiting in agony, Season 2 has been greenlit by Netflix.
Over a montage of Season 1 clips and footage from fan events, Jenna Ortega as Wednesday says in a video released by Netflix on January 6: Over the last weeks I’ve been chased, haunted, and replicated millions of times across the internet. It’s been an absolute ordeal. Much obliged.

Netflix made the following announcement to the tune of Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary” (a cover version that TikTok’s Wednesday devotees have opted to employ in their dance tributes to the original “Goo Goo Muck” by The Cramps): “More misery is coming. Season 2 of the international smash hit is in the works.
Just the commission itself; no specifics or dates are provided. But that’s okay. Yes, that’s doable for us.
Co-creator Miles Millar told Netflix’s TUDUM:
“It’s been fantastic to produce a show that has connected with people throughout the world. I’m excited to continue the arduous adventure that is Wednesday into its second season. We can’t wait to return to the weird and scary world of Nevermore for a new season. Just because you’re a smart cookie doesn’t mean you have to be a dummy.”

What’s going to happen on Wednesday Season 2?
Wednesday’s werewolf roommate Enid Sinclair, portrayed by Emma Myers, told Variety in January 2023 that “anything is possible in the show.“
Myers told the media outlet, “We haven’t really spoken about direction at all, so I don’t really know what the game plan is for anything.”
But Myers responded to the fans who rooted for Enid and Wednesday by saying that she had other expectations for the upcoming second season.
“I feel like at least for a second season, Wednesday needs to take her season of singleness,” she remarked of Wednesday’s romantic prospects. She’s had to take it easy for a while; she just got into a huge fight with her guys. If I had gone through that, I don’t think I could ever dἀte again.
Where does the story go from here? We spoke of loose strings, and boy, did they get left fluttering. Wednesday’s penchant for pain didn’t appear to extend to her realization that her boyfriend was the monster terrorizing Nevermore. Ms. Thornhill, a popular teacher, turned out to be a bitter outsider with grudges against the popular kids, adding insult to ἰnjury to his sense of betrayal.
We doubt that Tyler will remain Ms. Thornhill’s ‘pet’ under her control, but we’re also very sure he escaped, and we’re even more confident that he’ll show up again in Wednesday’s life at some point. However, whether they will be friends, lovers or enemies is yet unknown.
