The convicted muɼderer Alex Murdaugh now claims that he lied about the circumstances surrounding the deἀth of Gloria Satterfield, his longtime housekeeper.
In 2018, Satterfield dἰed after falling on the Moselle farm owned by the family. Murdaugh now asserts that he “invented” elements of the case and that no dogs were involved when Satterfield fell down the front steps at Moselle in response to a federal lawsuit by the Nautilus insurance company, which was paid almost $4 million following her deἀth.
Compared to what he previously said, it is very different.
“She indicated that the dogs had caused her to fall,” said Murdaugh to insurance adjuster Bryant McGowan after the incident.
Lawyers for Murdaugh also advised including the Satterfield family in the lawsuit. Ronnie Richter declared that the Satterfield family’s ongoing attacks would not be tolerated.
The Satterfield family is represented by Richter and Eric Bland. They claimed Murdaugh is unreliable.
“It’s just more spin by him,” said Bland.
“He doesn’t tell you where the money went — the $3.8 million. He doesn’t tell you how Gloria dἰed. It’s just almost a perversion of the justice system to suggest that the Satterfield family be vἰctimized again.”
On Monday 8 May, Bland and Richter said they didn’t think the Satterfields would be included in the complaint. It’s quite convenient that Paul, Maggie and Gloria—the three persons who could either back or oppose Alex—are all d*ceased, Bland said.

The family has employed Satterfield as their housekeeper for around 20 years.
“The continued attacks on the Satterfield’s cannot and will not be ignored,” Bland said.
“Although Murdaugh is a well documented liar, Eric and I felt it important we address latest false narrative.”
Alex Murdaugh was found guilty of kἰlling his wife Maggie and son Paul earlier this year. He is in the care of the South Carolina Department of Corrections and is currently serving two consecutive life sentences.
