Who is Sofia Richie?
American social media star, model and fashion designer Sofia Richie Grainge was born on August 24, 1998. She has been featured in campaigns by a number of major brands including Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors and Adidas
She is Nicole Richie’s and Miles Riche’s younger sister and the daughter of musician Lionel Richie. Sofia Richie was born to Lionel Richie and his second wife, Diane Alexander in Los Angeles, California.
Michael Jackson is Sofia Richie’s godfather. She became close friends with Jackson’s daughter Paris during her childhood visits to Neverland Ranch and she later recalled those times as some of her fondest childhood memories.
Like her father, Richie had an early appreciation for music. At age five, she began taking voice lessons and by age seven, she was playing the piano. She would sometimes feature in her dad’s performances. When she was 14, she began training with vocal coach Tim Carter.
She has also collaborated in the studio with Joel Madden lead singer for the band Good Charlotte who is her brother-in-law. However, she opted to abandon a singing career because she felt she couldn’t measure up to her famous father.

A Look at Sofia Richie’s Modelling Career
At age 14, Richie had her modeling debut in Teen Vogue and by the time she was 15, she had signed her first fashion contract with Mary Grace Swim, a Los Angeles-based swimsuit label. The next year, Richie signed with the Select Model Management agency in London.
Richie collaborated with Teen Vogue and Olay for their “Fresh to School” online campaign in 2014 and she was featured in Who What Wear and Nationalist Magazine. She was featured in editorials for several magazines at the start of 2015 including Elle Girl, Nylon, Dazed, Fault, Unleash’d and Love Culture.
During New York Fashion Week in February 2016, she walked the runway for the first time at the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Red Dress Collection show. Since then, Richie has walked the runway for designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Samantha Thavasa, Jeremy Scott, Philipp Plein and Kanye West’s Yeezy line.
Brands such as DL1961, Madonna’s Material Girl line, Jacquie Aiche, Adidas, Michael Kors, Pretty LittleThing and Tommy Hilfiger have all used Richie in their commercial campaigns. Tings, Elle, Seventeen and Vanity Fair have all featured her in editorials.
