The Dropout is an American drama miniseries created by Elizabeth Meriwether and inspired by the podcast The Dropout produced by ABC News and hosted by Rebecca Jarvis.
The series stars Amanda Seyfried and Naveen Andrews and follows the dishonored biotechnology company named Theranos and its founder Elizabeth Holmes (played by Amanda Seyfried).
The first season of The Dropout aired on March 3ā, 2022, and ended on April 7, 2022, on Hulu with a total of eight episodes having run times of 50 to 55 mins for each episode and it received lots of love and appreciation from critics as well as the audience. It has an IMDB rating of 7.5 out of 10 and 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
After Amanda Seyfried landed the cast, she also decided to serve as a producer for the miniseries alongside Elizabeth Meriwether, Liz Hannah, Liz Heldens, and Katherine Pope joined Dunn and Thompson as executive producers.
On March 31, 2021, Michael Showalter and Jordana Mollick joined the limited series to serve as executive producers. Showalter was also supposed to helm a number of episodes apart from serving as one of the executive producers.
The show has gained huge popularity and that led fans to think about a second season here’s what we know so far about it.
The Dropout Season 2 Release Date
It’s been just about nine days since the premiere of the last episode of the series and there is not a word uttered yet about the renewal of the series for a second season, neither from the cast members nor from Hulu.
It’s too early also as obviously it will take some time for the team to think about the second season before making it official and given the love and fanbase the series has, we expect it to renew for another season in March 2023. If the series gets a renewal, then we can expect it to kick off next year.

The Dropout Season 2 Expected Storyline
As we know, The Dropout is adapted from the eponymous ABC Audio podcast. The series is about the rise and decline of Elizabeth Holmes and her company, Theranos.
It took a dig into experiences that probably encouraged Holmes’s frauds and lies in a linear fashion, beginning from her preteens and all the way to her exposure as a fraud.
Nothing has been hinted as of now about what to expect from the second season of the series but we hope to hear some positive updates about it soon.
