On July 1, 2020, the second season of “Deadwind” premiered. Deadwind, like the Finnish film Bordertown, is a charming crime drama. In the wake of her partner’s death, the show’s protagonist, a crime analyst, is once again on the hunt for cold-blooded criminals.
After Anna Bergdahl’s killer was set free, however, the analyst’s life once again returned to the precipice. Each season of “Deadwind” is written with nail-biting cases that are cleverly locked down to form a larger story.
Deadwind‘s financial success has attracted the notice of Netflix, so it’s no surprise that the second season premiered with overwhelmingly positive reviews. Season 2 of ‘Deadwind’ is expected to be the best of the seasons thus far, and viewers are eager to learn as much as they can about the likelihood and current standing of a third season.
Unexpected Moments in Deadwind Season 3
After taking a year off to deal with her guilt over covering up for her daughter’s drug smuggling, Helsinki Police Department homicide detective Sofia Karppi has returned to work.
Karppi’s new employer, Silja Rautamaa, has teamed up with Nurmi, an old partner, to investigate the murder of a woman who was found locked in a cage at a defunct animal hospital. The victim had her back cut off and her limbs wired together.
Karppi finds a mysterious symbol on the victim’s body as she checks photographs of the crime scene. According to information provided by Rautamaa, the deceased has been identified as 51-year-old Tuuli Siren, an employee at Memfi Pharmaceuticals. She has a son, Ossi Siren, who is 28 years old, and she is divorced.
Peltola, another homicide investigator, finds out that Sanna Siren, the victim’s younger sister, also works for the pharmaceutical business.
When Karppi and Nurmi pay her a visit, she tells them that she and Tuuli are developing a new pharmaceutical to help people withdraw from opioids called Rehaxin; Sanna is in charge of the chemistry behind the drug’s development in the lab.
Meanwhile, Ossi, Tuuli’s drug-addicted son, starts opening fire on unsuspecting bystanders. In order to catch him, detectives have decided to board his yacht, as he is the main suspect in the case. As soon as they get there, he begins firing and running.
After finding another body marked with the same sign, Rautamaa calls Karppi to share the news. Olavi Schultz, a consultant on the Rehaxin project, was the second casualty. Near the scene of the final murder, police also find surveillance footage of a van belonging to a pharmaceutical company that appears to have been stolen.
After the mysterious death of her husband Jussi, Karppi receives an intriguing phone call that reveals his death was no accident. Karppi has decided to investigate the murder of her spouse. Karppi and Nurmi receive word from Rautamaa that human remains have been discovered in a sewer, and Karppi is tasked with looking into the matter.

Karppi finds at least four human skulls and evidence that the killer attempted chemical disposal of the victims in the sewage. After being found comatose on the street, Nurmi’s ex-girlfriend Laura is taken to the hospital, where he learns that she is temporarily forgetful due to her ordeal.
The next day, Laura is attacked when she is in the hospital. Laura admits her familiarity with the culprit to investigators Karppi and Nurmi.
When he saw her on the street, he went up to her to tell her about a new prescription that wouldn’t make her feel sick to her stomach or depressed. She wanted to break her drug habit, so she accepted his offer of a free place in the test group.
Karppi discovers that Tuuli’s coworker Krister Merihaara attacked Laura and issued a blanket order for all units to keep a watch out for him. In an alley with an identical symbol on the wall, they discover Krister’s burned-out automobile and his body hung upside down.
All four of the dead people found in the sewer were drug addicts who had attempted to take part in a medication-free withdrawal test but had their attempts thwarted. The fifth person, Laura Salo, escaped. They also learn that Krister orchestrated these tests, though it’s unclear whether he worked alone or with colleagues.
Karppi and Nurmi investigate the death of Ossi after he is discovered in his boat. On his boat’s hard drive, they discover numerous images of a young woman sporting a necklace bearing the same symbol as the one discovered near the deaths.
They determine that the young woman in the picture is Nea Paarma, who died by heroin overdose in 2019. The connection between Tuuli Siren and Nea Paarma is discovered by Karppi and Nurmi. Tuuli failed to properly manage Nea’s depression while she was a patient of hers.
Despite this, with the aid of her coworker, Karppi finds dash cam evidence showing a woman with a birthmark behind her neck standing by the road when her husband was killed.

Who killed Nea and Krister?
During their conversation with Peltola, Karppi and Nurmi discover that they share a trait with Sanna Siren: both are left-handed. Upon investigating Sanna’s house, they uncovered a secret laboratory where she had been producing narcotics in violation of the law.
She traps them inside the lab and escapes before they can catch her. Sadly, Sanna is murdered by the symbol killer before Karppi and Nurmi can rescue her.The investigation concludes that Sanna and Krister killed Nea because she discovered their plot to develop a poison that would silently eliminate drug addicts.
They injected her with a lethal quantity of cocaine and posed as her suicide. They murdered addicts who may have benefited from treatment so they could show that the poison was effective.
Krister wanted to make money as quickly as possible with the poison, but when he made a mistake and Laura got away, Sanna knew he’d be discovered. She murdered him, then posed as the same mystical figure over his body.
The question is whether or not Karppi and Nurmi manage to apprehend the symbol killer.
Karppi and Nurmi suspect that Nea’s uncle Jouni Parmaa staged his own death in an accident and is still alive and planning retribution.
After her death, Nea was dating Nurmi, he admits. The cocaine he was using at the time was stolen by her, and Sanna injected it into her to murder her. Karppi thinks Nurmi is the target of the symbol killer’s attention.
The group investigates Jouni Parmaa’s past by going to the deserted convent where he had lived for the prior six months. When Jouni Parmaa hits Karppi and then runs away, they realize he is the symbol killer.
Jouni Parmaa abducts Karppi’s grandson Emil later that night from where he is staying with his father. If Karppi doesn’t kill Nurmi per his instructions, he’ll kill her son. After the investigators fake Nurmi’s death, Nurmi himself ends his life to prevent Karppi and her son from coming to harm.

Who killed Jussi?
Karppi finds out that her husband, Jussi, has an affair after she reads his text messages. After returning to the main office, she confronts Peltola, a fellow worker, about the birthmark on her neck.
After admitting to having an affair with Karppi’s spouse Jussi, Peltola reveals that she fought with him over their relationship. Therefore, after an argument one night, she pushed him onto the road, where he was struck by a car.
