In 2020, the PlayStation Future of Gaming expo introduced fans to next-generation gaming. While several games were demonstrated throughout the presentation, one that piqued the interest of many fans was Stray, a graphically stunning PlayStation console exclusive in which players assume the position of a cat.
Stray was absent from the most recent PlayStation State of Play presentation, prompting some fans to fear the game might miss its projected 2022 release date, but those fears appear to have been unfounded.
Annapurna Interactive, the publisher of Stray, was receiving comments on Stray and the State of Play and so offered an update to fans by stating that the game is still scheduled to release in 2022.
A more precise release date for Stray is unavailable at the time of this writing, but if the game is aiming for a 2022 release, fans shouldn’t have to wait for all that much longer to discover when they’ll finally get to play it.
The last time fans had a comprehensive look at Stray at the Annapurna Interactive Showcase, which took place as part of last year’s Summer Game Fest.
That’s when Annapurna Interactive debuted new Stray gameplay footage, reiterating the game’s visual splendor when it ultimately launches.

Stray’s absence from the current PlayStation State of Play presentation should not surprise fans.
After all, the most recent PlayStation State of Play included games from Japanese companies, including various titles from Square Enix and a new cooperative dinosaur game in development at Capcom.
for those asking about a Stray update, it won't be a State of Purr today 😅
it's still coming this year, though! 😺

Stray is being created by a French development company named BlueTwelve Studio and so would not match the State of Play premise.
Stray’s intriguing idea has piqued gamers’ interest and judging by how eager fans were to see the game at the State of Play, it appears that many are eager to see more of it in action.
Stray has looked excellent since its original unveiling, and it appears to have a lot of potentials to be one of the year’s most intriguing new IPs. It remains to be seen if Stray lives up to the anticipation, but assuming Stray fulfills its intended 2022 release date, fans should find out sooner rather than later.
Stray is currently developing the PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
