Florence + the Machine have revealed that they will be releasing their fifth studio album shortly.
In addition to previously published songs “King” and “Heaven Is Here,” Dance Fever will contain the new song “My Love,” which will be released on May 13. Check out the “My Love” video at the bottom of this page.
Dance Fever was co-produced in London by Welch, Jack Antonoff, and Glass Animals’ Dave Bayley and was directed by Welch.
According to a press release, the influences on the record include choreomania, the notion of individuals dancing themselves to exhaustion or even death, which was popular throughout the Renaissance era and continues to be relevant now.
More recent inspirations identified as having influenced the recording of Dance Fever to include the writings of author Carmen Maria Machado and the horror films The Witch and Midsommar, both produced by A24.

‘High as Hope’ was Florence + The Machine’s most recent studio album, released in 2018. Lungs were released in 2011, and How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (2015) were the band’s previous releases (2009).
