Tyson Fury earned a winning bonus of $4.1 million and a reported $30 million from PPV, ticket sales, and merchandise which has helped him take his net worth to another level. He earned over $34 million from that fight.
After taking a dig into Tyson Fury’s net worth, let’s have a sneak peek into his early life.
Early Life
Fury was born on August 12, 1988, to Amber and John. His father named him Tyson as his baby was a fighter and survived the premature birth. When he was born, Mike Tyson was the undefeated undisputed heavyweight champion worldwide.
His mother had fourteen pregnancies, with just 4 surviving children. When he was nine years old, his mother welcomed a daughter who just managed to survive a few weeks which actually left a deep impact on him. Tyson started involving himself in boxing to pass his outrage. He was trained by his father until 2011 when he was sent behind the bars.
When he was just eleven years old, Fury dropped school and got involved as a laborer on tarmac roads with his father and 3 brothers.
Personal Life
Tyson Fury met Paris Mullroy when he was 17 and she was 16. The much-in-love couple tied the knot in 2008 and have 5 children together. They currently stay in Morecambe, Lancashire.
Amateur and Professional Boxing Career
There is no doubt that Tyson Fury has earned a massive net worth from his successful boxing career. He declined the opportunity to fight for Ireland at the Olympic Games but was then drafted by Ireland and Great Britain to fight after tracing his lineage to Belfast.
In 2008, he won the ABA championship as an amateur. In December 2008, Tyson made his professional boxing debut when he won against Bela Gyongyosi. Fury won against John McDermott in November 2009, winning the English Heavyweight title. In June 2010, Fury again went on to defeat McDermott, winning the English Heavyweight title.
The next July, he won against Dereck Chisora, taking home the British and Commonwealth Heavyweight titles. In 2012, Tyson Fury took home the Irish Heavyweight title from Martin Rogan, the WBO Inter-Continental Heavyweight title from Vinny Maddalone, and in 2014, the European and WBO International Heavyweight titles from Dereck Chisora which has brought him considerable net worth.
Klitschko Fight
The stars aligned in 2015 to have Tyson fight against Wladimir Klitschko in a world heavyweight title match for the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, Lineal, and The Ring heavyweight titles.
On November 28, 2015, the face-off was held in Dusseldorf, Germany and after 12 rounds, with a unanimous decision, he was announced as the winner. Tyson was paid $7 million for his performance whereas Klitschko made nearly $23 million.
That victory brought Fury’s record to 25 – 0 with 18 knockouts and set him up for what should have been an incredible payday from a rematch against Klitschko. In April 2016, the rematch was announced but sadly, Fury gained 100 pounds which led him to declare “medically unfit” for the fight in September 2016. The bout was once again postponed following he reportedly failed a drug test for cocaine.
During an interview with Rolling Stone, Tyson slipped into a deep depression saying: “I’m going through a lot of personal demons, trying to shake them off, this has got nothing to do with my fighting – what I’m going through right now is my personal life.
I’ve not been in a gym for months. I’ve been going through depression. I just don’t want to live anymore, if you know what I’m saying. I’ve had total enough of it. Never mind cocaine. I just didn’t care. I don’t want to live anymore. So, cocaine is a little minor thing compared to not wanting to live anymore. I am seeing help, but they can’t do anything for me. What I’ve got is incurable.
I don’t want to live. All the money in the world, fame, and glory, means nothing if you’re not happy. I’m seeing psychiatrists. They say I’ve got a version of bipolar. I’m a manic depressive. I don’t even want to wake up.
I hope I die every day. And that’s a bad thing to say when I’ve got three children and a lovely wife isn’t it? But I don’t want to live anymore. And if I could take my own life – and I wasn’t a Christian – I’d take it in a second.
I just hope someone kills me before I kill myself. I’ll have to spend eternity in hell. I’ve been out drinking, Monday to Friday to Sunday, and taking cocaine. I can’t deal with it and the only thing that helps me is when I get drunk out of mind.”
Comeback
After vacating his world titles, Fury took a hiatus for over two years to get his life back on track. In June 2018, he made his comeback with a victory against Sefer Seferi. After two months, he beat Francesco Pianeta.
Fury fought Deontay Wilder for the first time in December 2018. He was offered $4 million for the fight, whereas Fury was offered $3 million. Apparently, both of them earned nearly $10 million from the match, after all, proceedings were calculated and concluded in a draw.
Tyson Fury earned a good amount of net worth from this match as well. Incredibly, soon after the fight, Fury confirmed he was planning to donate his entire revenue from that match for charitable purposes.
Fury beat Tom Schwarz by TKO. He won against Otto Wallin by unanimous decision in September 2019.

A rematch against Deontay Wilder was slated for 2020 and it was reported that both of them were offered $28 million in addition to a 50/50 cut of PPV profits. This has contributed remarkably to building Tyson Fury’s net worth.
