How did Catherine Herridge and J.D. Hayes meet and marry?
Catherine Herridge and J.D. Hayes got married in 2004, in a small ceremony attended by their close friends and family. They have been married for almost 20 years and have supported each other through their careers and personal challenges. It is not yet officially confirmed how they met.
How many children do Catherine Herridge and J.D. Hayes have?
Catherine Herridge and J.D. Hayes have two sons, Jamie and Peter. Jamie is the older one, who was born in 2005. Peter is the younger one, who was born in 2006. Peter was diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening liver condition called biliary atresia when he was only a few months old.
He needed a liver transplant to survive and on June 6, 2006, Herridge donated a portion of her liver to him. The surgery was successful and both mother and son recovered well. Herridge later wrote a book about their experience, called “The Next Wave: On the Hunt for Al Qaeda’s American Recruits” which also detailed her investigation of the emerging threats of terrorism.

Catherine Herridge and J.D. Hayes are still working in their respective fields and raising their sons. Herridge left Fox News in 2019 and joined CBS News as a senior investigative correspondent. Hayes is still serving in the Air Force and has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel. He is currently stationed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. He and Herridge often travel between their homes in Washington, D.C. and Texas, where they have a ranch.
