Even though Draper started losing at first, he tried hard before he got sick. De Minaur played smart and got ahead early by taking advantage of Draper’s sickness.
As Draper got sicker, the way the game was going changed. He had to stop playing when he was losing 3-6, 6-2, 0-4. De Minaur went on to the final. He was worried about Draper’s health. This shows how tough tennis can be and how sports can be surprising.
While Draper recovers, De Minaur gets ready to defend his title against Casper Ruud in San Diego. Katie Boulter also made news for British tennis. This shows how tough situations need resilience in sports.

Keibert Ruiz Professional Life
In 2023, Draper performed admirably in tennis. He got into the top 40 players, played in two big tournaments for the first time, and came back to play in the ATP tour after getting hurt.
He started his year playing at the Adelaide International 1, where he had some tough matches, especially when he lost to Karen Khachanov in the second round. But then, he did much better at the Adelaide International 2.
He beat Tommy Paul and got back at Khachanov. But then he lost to Kwon Soon-woo, who eventually won the whole thing. When he played at the Australian Open for the first time, he had to face Rafael Nadal, a really tough opponent. He had some trouble with cramps but kept fighting hard during the match.
Despite the loss, he reached his best-ever ranking of 38th in singles. Then, in the BNP Paribas Open, he beat tough players like Dan Evans and Andy Murray before stopping due to getting hurt while playing against Carlos Alcaraz.
At the US Open, Draper made a strong return. He won against Radu Albot, Hubert Hurkacz, and Michael Mmoh and moved on to the second week. He also did great in other tournaments called Challenger events, where he won some titles.
He made a big achievement by reaching the final of a big tournament called the 2023 Sofia Open. In 2024, Draper kept doing well in tennis. He got to his second big tennis match, called the ATP final in Adelaide, and also made it to the semifinals in another tournament called Abierto Mexicano Telcel.
But he had to stop playing in the second tournament because he got hurt. Even though he had to stop early, he did really well, and now he’s ranked even higher than before, in the top 40 players.
