JoJo & Dexter Darden have been dating since at least June 2020. They announced their engagement on Instagram on December 25, 2021, after Darden proposed to JoJo on her 31st birthday in Puerto Rico.
In the now-deleted post, JoJo wrote alongside photographs and video from the proposal:
“Forever with YOU? Sign me UP. Celebrating Christmas a whole fiancé!!! The most thoughtful, creative, positive, handsome, strong, loving, uplifting human being asked me to marry him. So obviously I said YESSS!!!”
She added:
“Thank you for the most epic birthday surprise ever. And for flying out my mom, your mom, and both of our best friends to share in that incredible moment with us, You are one of one. LFG @dexterdarden.”

When Did JoJo & Dexter Darden Break Off Their Engagement?
JoJo and fiancé Dexter Darden split 1 year after the fairytale proposal. Since November 2022, they have unfollowed each other on Instagram and JoJo has removed photos of them together including her engagement announcement.
In January 2023, JoJo posted cryptic messages on her social media leaving fans to suspect that the couple had ended their relationship. JoJo shared a story in which she wrote, “And just like that, I took the ring off my left hand and put it on my right.”
The star also quoted Jay Shetty, former monk and life coach in another cryptic message. She wrote:
“The right person won’t just love you with their words. They will love you with their intentions, actions, and affection. They will love all of you with all they have.”
After her posts with words like “People be lying, knowing they lying, knowing you know they lying…And still lie.” many even speculated that Dexter had cheated on her.
