Who Killed Selena Quintanilla?
Selena Quintanilla was murdered by Yolanda Saldívar, on March 31, 1995. During a meeting on March 2, 1995, Selena and her family accused Saldívar of stealing money from the singer’s companies. After Saldívar was fired, she bought a.38-caliber pistol and planned to meet Selena later that month and during the meeting she killed her.
Where Did Selena Quintanilla Die?
Selena died outside the Days Inn in Corpus Christi, Texas. Saldívar shot Selena once in the lower right shoulder as she tried to exit the room, the purpose of their encounter was to retrieve financial records.
The “Amor Prohibido” vocalist artist ran toward the lobby of the motel, with Saldívar following after her with the gun. Just before midday, Selena cried for assistance and fainted on the floor upon reaching the front desk. As the employees of the Days Inn tried to halt the bleeding and get an ambulance, Saldívar went back to her room.
An ambulance was sent by the hotel personnel, and it reached the location in one minute and fifty-five seconds. Selena had stopped breathing at this time, so paramedics gave her CPR.
While they were transferring her from the Days Inn hotel to the Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital, they also used gauze and pressure to stop the bleeding. The physicians tried all they could to save her life when they got there, including blood transfusions and open heart massages.
Due to severe internal bleeding, Selena did not exhibit any neurological function, despite efforts by medical personnel to restore a normal heart rate.
