This is her first new album in seven years. The record is a monument to “Shakira’s resilience and strength and music’s ability to transform even the most trying experiences into precious moments,” according to a press release. The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer said in a statement:
“Making this body of work has been an alchemical process. While writing each song I was rebuilding myself. While singing them, my tears transformed into diamonds and my vulnerability into strength.”

Shakira’s New Album Inspired by Women’s Strength
The inspiring words from her Bizarrap session “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” in which she proclaimed, “Las mujeres ya no llora, las mujeres facturan,” are referenced in the album’s title. This imprecise translation translates to, “Women don’t cry anymore, they make money.”
The 16-track album will feature eight never-before-heard songs, a remix and seven previously released singles like “Music Sessions Vol. 53” with Bizarrap, “TQG” with Karol G, “Te Felicito” with Rauw Alejandro and “Copa Vacía” with Manuel Turizo.
The “Waka Waka” singer, who had divorced from her longtime husband Gerard Piqué in June 2022, made a sensational return to the music scene. At the MTV Video Music Awards, Shakira received the much-coveted Video Vanguard Award which honors an artist’s lifetime accomplishment.
During the first-ever Latin Women in Music event Shakira mentioned the changes that had occurred in her life as she accepted Billboard’s Woman of the Year award. She said as she picked up the award:
“This has been a year of seismic change in my life where I’ve felt more than ever — and very personally — what it is to be a woman.”
She added:
“It’s been a year where I’ve realized we women are stronger than we think, braver than we believed, more independent than we were taught to be, Because what woman hasn’t at some time in her life forgotten herself because she’s seeking the attention and love of someone else? It happened to me more than once.”
Shakira spoke about realizing her worth as a woman. She said:
“But there comes a time in the life of every woman where she no longer depends on someone else to love and accept herself just as she is, A time when the search for someone else is replaced by the search for oneself.”
She added:
“A time when the desire to be perfect is replaced by the desire to be authentic, and where finding someone who is faithful is less important than being faithful to ourselves.”
