On the February 14 episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” Kris appeared as a guest star and spoke candidly about her rapidly declining health.
Kris dressed in pink called from Los Angeles, sharing the results of her most recent blood tests. She said that she had to take medications that are unavailable in the Philippines and that her hemoglobin count had decreased to an alarming 8.7 (the usual for women is between 12 and 16).
The Queen of all Media was diagnosed with a fifth autoimmune illness based on a picture of her face showing a butterfly rash; as a result, her blood pressure was erratic and her knees and bones swelled.
The host-actress went on to say that Churg-Strauss syndrome, her third autoimmune condition had caused many minor scrapes on her right lung.
Kris said that she would get a heart rate of 120 beats per minute while using the loo or trying to gain weight; once, she had a heart rate of 146 while taking a bath. Kris admitted, “I could have a stroke at any time, I would have been fine if hindi ako nagka-autoimmune diseases.”
Kris will test a new biological medication on February 19 that may be able to preserve her heart, but she has a high risk of going into cardiac arrest, so the next six months will be critical.
Kris disclosed a pledge she made to her sixteen-year-old youngest son Bimby that she would stop at nothing to see him through to adulthood. In addition, she disclosed her backup plan, which calls for Boy and two close friends to fly out right away to be at her side in the event of an emergency.
In her farewell speech, Kris thanked God for the support she had received from strangers and strangers alike and she vowed to persevere in the face of the minuscule likelihood that she would return to the entertainment industry.
She informed how much she loved her three older sisters, as well as her friends in the Philippines, particularly the ones that traveled to visit her.
