The tragic story of Gabriel Fernandez, an eight-year-old boy who suffered terrible abuse and died young, made people everywhere shocked and sad. His story was shown in a Netflix show called “The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez,” which many watched at home.

Gabriel’s mom, Pearl Fernandez, and dad, Arnold Contreras, were really important in the story that tragically ended for Gabriel. Where Are Gabriel Fernandez Parents Now?
Gabriel Fernandez’s tragic case shocked the world, and the whereabouts of his parents have been a subject of much interest. Arnold Contreras, Gabriel’s father, has faced a troubled life marked by legal issues and stints in prison.
At the time of Gabriel’s death, Contreras was in prison, and despite the profound loss of his son, he tried to move on. He has been residing in Pacoima, California, and was last known to work at a tattoo and piercing parlor.
Although he has shared images and artwork on his social media profiles, including Facebook and Pinterest, there hasn’t been much public activity from him since around 2017. In 2019, he was admitted to Calipatria State Prison for a nonviolent offense and has been eligible for parole since June 2019.
Pearl Fernandez, Gabriel’s mother, was at the center of the abuse that led to Gabriel’s death. She has a history of turbulent childhood, substance abuse from a young age, and a series of traumatic experiences.
Pearl was diagnosed with several psychological disorders and was the mother of three children, including Gabriel. After Gabriel’s death, Pearl took a plea deal in 2018, pleading guilty to first-degree murder and murder involving torture, which resulted in a sentence of life without the possibility of parole.
She is currently incarcerated at the Chowchilla State Women’s Prison, part of the Central California Women’s Facility, and there is no chance of her being released.

What Happened to Gabriel Fernandez?
Gabriel Fernandez’s mom, Pearl Fernandez, and her boyfriend, Isauro Aguirre, were found guilty of hurting Gabriel badly in 2013. Gabriel, who was 8 years old, died from the hurt in May 2013.
Pearl was sent to prison after being convicted. This made people ask big questions about how child abuse can go unnoticed in the US system. In 2012, when Gabriel Fernandez’s mom wanted to bring him home, some of her family didn’t agree.
They thought she wasn’t taking good care of her other kids and doubted if she could be a good parent to Gabriel. Before that, Gabriel had been staying with different family members, like his grandparents and uncle. His mom, Pearl, decided to take him in partly to get welfare benefits.
In 2012, Gabriel Fernandez went to live with his mom, her boyfriend, and his two siblings. At his new school, he asked his teacher, Jennifer Garcia, if it’s okay for moms to hit their kids.
He even asked if it’s normal to bleed from it. Garcia got worried and called the child abuse hotline in Los Angeles County. Authorities said they didn’t find clear signs of abuse by Gabriel Fernandez’s mom.
They checked her home many times and didn’t find anything wrong. But later, Gabriel’s friends saw him with injuries like cut lips and bruises on his head. His brothers and sisters said their parents hurt him, teased him for playing with dolls, and called him gay.
