Mallory Beach & the accidental boat

The Mallory Beach family has launched a lawsuit claiming that images of their daughter’s body are being used in a documentary on Alex Murdaugh and his family.

Greg Parker, the creator and CEO of Parker’s and Parker’s Kitchen, petrol stations and convenience shops with locations in Georgia and South Carolina is named in the complaint.

Authorities say that in February 2019, Paul Murdaugh who was underage was observed buying alcohol at a Parker’s in Ridgeland. Paul was driving the boat when it crashed, killing Mallory Beach. Mallory’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Parker.

The Beach family’s solicitors claim that in addition, the defendants made available to the public a video teaser for the documentary that included private mediation sessions.

Parker and his lawyers, Jason D’Cruz and Blake Greco are accused by the Beach family of hiring social media “knife fighters” and others to influence the wrongful death lawsuit procedures and undermine the family’s “resolve in prosecuting the civil action.”

Journalist Vicky Ward is also included in the lawsuit. The lawsuit claims that Ward was informed in September 2021 that the private video she owned did not comply with the mediation procedure.

In a statement, Parker’s representatives stated, “Parker denies any allegation of providing Vicky Ward with crime scene photos, video footage or other confidential mediation information.”

Parker is dissatisfied that someone would divulge or talk to the media about information found in these things. Parker’s took care to exclude any information that may be construed as secret when it filed a petition in November 2020 on mediation materials.

We are still sending our deepest sympathies to the Beach family on their loss and we will be promptly responding to the Plaintiff’s unfounded and misleading accusations.

What Was Found in Mallory Beach’s Autopsy Report?

The autopsy report of Mallory Beach revealed that she died from drowning and blunt force trauma. She had injuries to her head, neck, body and extremities, indicating that she was hit by the boat or the bridge.

Mallory was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident. She also had a blood alcohol level of 0.17%, which is more than twice the legal limit for driving. However, there is no evidence that she was driving the boat or that her alcohol consumption contributed to her death. The coroner ruled her death as accidental.

What Happened on the Day of the Incident?

Paul Murdaugh purchased alcohol using his brother’s ID at a convenience store on the day of the accident. He and five other friends including Mallory Beach and her boyfriend Anthony Cook, met at Murdaugh’s grandfather’s river house and boarded a boat to go to an oyster roast.

Around midnight, they left the party and stopped at a dockside bar where Murdaugh and another passenger, Connor Cook, drank shots. Murdaugh refused to let anyone else drive the boat and became aggressive and violent towards his girlfriend Morgan Doughty.

At 2:17 a.m., the boat hit a piling on the bridge to Parris Island, throwing Beach and two others overboard. The other passengers were injured and taken to a hospital, except for Anthony Cook who stayed behind to look for Beach.

Beach was missing for eight days until her body was found by volunteers about five miles down the river from the crash site. Have a look at the tweet related to the incident provided below:
