Carano claims in the lawsuit which was filed on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 to a federal court in California, that she was let off from her position as rebel fighter Cara Dune because she posted conservative views on social media.
She is seeking a court order compelling Lucasfilm to either pay her at least $75,000 or reinstate her. Carano alleges in the lawsuit that she lost millions of dollars in revenue and experienced mental distress. The lawsuit says:
“A short time ago in a galaxy not so far away, Defendants made it clear that only one orthodoxy in thought, speech, or action was acceptable in their empire, and that those who dared to question or failed to fully comply would not be tolerated and so it was with Carano.”
Carano shared a tweet related to the lawsuit and described the controversy briefly. She wrote:
